The Story
Treated decking boards in 32mm x 125mm offer a reliable, long-lasting surface for outdoor timber decking projects. Pressure treated with a copper-based preservative, each board is grooved on one face for grip and smooth on the other, giving you flexibility on any domestic or professional build.

What it's used for
- Garden decking areas adjoining the house or as a freestanding platform
- Patio and courtyard decking where a timber finish is preferred over paving
- Raised deck structures in domestic gardens
- Commercial and trade decking projects requiring a pressure treated board
Fitting and handling
Allow boards to acclimatise on site for at least 48 hours before fixing, keeping them flat and off the ground with stickers between each layer to allow air circulation. Fix through the face or use hidden fixings with a 5-6mm expansion gap between boards to allow for movement. Boards can be left to weather to a natural silver-grey or finished with a compatible timber decking oil or stain once the treatment has fully dried, typically 6-8 weeks after installation.
FAQ
Why do my new decking boards have a green tint?
The green colour comes from the copper-based preservative used during pressure treatment. It is completely normal and will fade to a natural timber tone as the boards weather outdoors over several weeks.
What are the white deposits that appear on treated decking boards?
White surface deposits, sometimes called salting, are a by-product of the treatment process and are not a defect. They appear as moisture draws salts to the surface during drying and will disappear with weathering or a light brush down.
Grooved or smooth face up - which side should I use?
The grooved face is designed to face upwards where slip resistance is a priority, such as on a main walkway or steps. The smooth face can be used upwards where a cleaner visual finish is preferred, for example on a low-traffic seating area.
