What it's used for
- Sealing and bonding timber frames, door linings, and skirting boards where a clear, unobtrusive finish is required
- Fixing and sealing around windows and glazing, including glass-to-frame joints on conservatories and outbuildings
- Waterproof sealing of kitchen and bathroom joints on ceramic tiles, sinks, and worktops
- External repairs to guttering, metal flashings, and plastic fascia boards where a flexible, weather-resistant seal is needed
Fitting and handling
Cut the nozzle to the required bead size and load the cartridge into a standard skeleton gun before applying a smooth, continuous bead to a clean, dry, or lightly damp surface. Although EB25 can be applied to damp surfaces, removing loose moisture and dust first will improve adhesion, particularly on timber and masonry. Tool off any excess within the open time and, if painting, allow the product to cure fully before applying a water-based topcoat. Store unused cartridges in a cool, dry location with the nozzle resealed to prevent skinning.
FAQ
Can Everbuild EB25 be used on timber outdoors?
Yes. EB25 is rated for external use and resists UV light, water, and temperature extremes, making it suitable for sealing joints on exterior timber cladding, door frames, and fence posts. For best results, ensure the timber surface is free from loose debris before application.
How long does EB25 take to cure fully?
Skin forms within approximately 10 to 20 minutes depending on temperature and humidity. Full cure typically takes 24 to 48 hours. Lower temperatures and deeper beads will extend the curing time, so allow adequate drying time before subjecting the joint to water or mechanical stress.
Is Everbuild EB25 suitable for sealing around a bath or shower?
EB25 is waterproof and bonds to ceramic, glass, and most plastics, so it can be used for wet-area sealing. For joints that will experience constant water immersion, a dedicated sanitary silicone with added mould inhibitor may offer longer-term performance in bathrooms and wet rooms.
Nottage Timber Merchants stock EB25 alongside a full range of fixings and sealants for trade and retail customers across South Wales. If you're working with door linings and frames, we can supply both the timber and the sealant you need. Next-day delivery is available to Bridgend and surrounding South Wales areas.
